Heavy loads can cause the back of your vehicle to sag and add unnecessary stress to your suspension. This stress not only affects your brakes in a bad way, but your tires, headlight aim and handling suffer as well. To improve your vehicle's ability to endure heavy loads, you need to add support to your existing coil springs.

Air Lift's AirLift 1000 adjustable air springs have 1,000 pounds of load-leveling capacity and are made specifically to fit inside your rear coil spring suspension for additional load assistance. You can inflate and deflate these tough, molded polyurethane helper springs as needed, ensuring the perfect amount of support for every load, every time. Easily level your vehicle front to rear, and if you run dual air lines to the air springs at installation, then you can inflate the springs independently of one another for side-to-side leveling. AirLift 1000 is a breeze to install with standard tools and comes with an easy-to-follow instruction manual.

AirLift 1000 comes with manual inflation valves that are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere on your vehicle for easy access. For even more convenience and control, you can add a compressor and gauge system (sold separately), which will let you monitor and automatically inflate your air springs.

Air Lift kits are designed to keep your vehicle at normal ride height. You can find the normal ride height of your vehicle by unloading it and measuring the distance between the bottom edge of your wheel well and the center of the hub. After you find and record this distance, you can regulate the amount of air that you put into your air springs to maintain normal ride height - even when you are hauling a heavy load. You will need to adjust the air pressure in your air bags according to the size of your load.

Air Lift is positive that you will benefit from their air spring suspension system - so much so that they offer a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Install and use AirLift 1000 springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove them from your vehicle and return them for a full product refund.

  • Air Ride Spacers for Air Lift 1000 Helper Spring for Coil Springs on 2.5 Inch Lifted Grand Cherokee
The Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs - Rear # AL60754 can utilize spacers. I reached out to my contact at Air Lift and they need the internal diameter of the coil as well as the internal vehicle coil length at resting ride height. If you can get me that info, I can help you get the spacers you need.

  • Should the Coils Be Removed to Install the AirLift 1000 Drag Bags # AL60844
If you plan on having the springs replaced on your 1970 Buick Skylark that would be the ideal time to also install the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Drag Bags # AL60844. It can be possible to install these air bags with the spring still in the car, but I would be MUCH easier to do it with the coils off of the car. I have installed these in a couple vehicles now and ended up taking the coils out to make the job easier. Trying to install them with the coils still in the car can be pretty difficult. Adding...

  • Using the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System with Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs
According to the installation instructions for the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA92-00-0800, " If your tow vehicle is equipped with airbags, we recommend that you inflate them to the pressure you are expecting to tow with before setting up the hitch. Inflating them after hitch set up changes the relationship between tow vehicle and trailer, and can reduce the amount of weight distribution and sway control you get from your hitch.". Therefore, it looks like you setup everything...

  • Do Rear Coil Springs Have to be Removed to Install Airlift 1000 Rear Helper Spring System # AL60754
Installation of the Airlift 1000 Rear Helper Spring System # AL60754 does require removal of the rear coil springs. You are also correct that some other rear axle air bag kits do not require this step, and can be slipped inside the coil springs while they remain in place. The kit you referenced fits Jeep Grand Cherokee model years 1999 through 2004. We do offer suspension enhancement kits for the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee and these can be seen on the link provided. You can use the filters...

  • Will the AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs Fit a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Lift Spacers
The Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs part # AL60754 will still work on your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with rear lift spacers as these spacers install underneath the rear coil springs so they would not interfere with the airbags. I do not believe you would have to drill a hole for the air line either.

  • Air Lift Air Bags for a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ 2 Inch Lift
The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs item # AL60754 could potentially still work with your taller coil springs but they will need to have the same inside diameter and you could have to use spacers. If you have the old coil springs the easiest thing to do would be to measure the inside diameter. If not go ahead and measure the height and the inside diameter of the springs currently on your Grand Cherokee and email me back those dimensions. Then I will give my rep at Air...

  • Would an Airlift 1000 System Help with Sag on a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The first thing I would do is confirm that you have your weight distribution system set up correctly. You may find that it does not have enough spring bar pressure to distribute enough of the tongue weight to the front axle of your 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. You may find that you need to tilt the head of your system back towards the rear of the vehicle or take a few links out of the chain hangers. If you have everything set up correctly on the weight distribution system then using an AirLift...

  • Air Bag Suspension Versus Weight Distribution for 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Towing 400 lb TW Camper
An air suspension system like the Air Lift Helper Springs you referenced is primarily designed to suspend the weight of anything carried on the vehicle, and although they would indeed eliminate the sag you are experiencing, the tongue weight of the trailer applied to the rear axle of your Grand Cherokee would lower the amount of the vehicle weight applied to the front axle. This is potentially dangerous because shifting too much weight away from the front axle of the vehicle can cause diminished...

  • Can AirLift 1000 Helper Springs be Used with Weight Distribution on a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
You can use air helper springs like the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL60754 on your 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee as well as use a weight distribution system. The key is to setup the air pressure in the air springs before you setup the weight distribution system. The purpose of your air bag suspension is to help reduce sag at the rear of your vehicle when hauling a heavy load. The purpose of a weight distribution system is to distribute the load of your trailer among all axles...

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The Timbren springs # TJRGC2 are designed to fit a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 4 wheel drive. They are not air springs but hollow rubber springs that get harder to compress the more weight that is put on them. They are rated for up to 1,300 pounds. I have linked the instructions for you. For air springs on a 2 or 4 wheel drive model you would use # AL60754. This system is rated for up to 1,000 pounds. I have included a link to an FAQ article on the Timbren style springs for you.

  • Suspension Enhancement to Level a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Installing suspension enhancement will help to keep your vehicle level when it is loaded whether it be on just one side or throughout the vehicle. Since you are primarily having issues on the right side I recommend adding air bags in the rear using # AL60754. Air bags have more adjustability than springs alone so you can customize the amount of air to level the vehicle accordingly. For the front, as long as you have 4 wheel drive (there is no front option for 2 wheel drive models) I recommend...

  • Can Airlift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL60754 Be Installed With Yellow Jounce Bumpers in Place
The cone-shaped device you see within your rear coil springs is a jounce bumper. This will be permanently removed to allow installation of an air bag kit such as the Airlift # AL60754. The installation instructions are attached. Please note that this kit fits the Jeep Grand Cherokee for model years 1999 through 2004 but does not fit the 2008 model year. The link provided will take you to our main page for suspension kits for the 2008 Grand Cherokee.

  • Can AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL60754 Be Installed With Separate Air Lines for Each Air Bag
Since the AirLift 1000 Kit # AL60754 includes two Schrader valves you are free to install the kit with separate air lines to each bag so that you can have independent adjustment of the air springs. This kit comes with 15-feet of air line; if you need more for your preferred location for valve installation you can use their Replacement Air Line Kit # AL22007 or locally source 1/4-inch air line. Be sure to route the air lines well away from moving suspension components and hot exhaust components...
